Annadanam Program
(Free Lunch to Devotees on Saturdays at the Temple)
Hindu Temple of The SSJM is offering Lunch Prasad to its devotees on Sundays at 12:30 pm and during special events. It is a great idea to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or any other special occasion by sponsoring Annadanam at SSJM.
Sponsors can provide Annadanam for $ 301 and our Prasad team will coordinate it for them. Sponsors will get an opportunity to do a regularly scheduled special Puja on that day. SSJM Youth Club
We are a group of 6th-12th grade students interested in getting more involved with the community, while at the same time, learning more about our culture. This club is run entirely by high school students as far as creating meeting agendas, organizing events at the temple, and planning volunteer activities for those involved in the club. Your child is encouraged to join if he/she wants to enrich her mind about Hinduism and what it represents alongside her friends while also receiving the opportunity to participate and volunteer in several temple events such as Diwali Mela and Holi. In addition to volunteering at the temple, members will also have a chance to get involved in other ways within the community, such as Adopt-A-Path and volunteering at the food bank.
Our goal is to witness the improvement of Shirdi Sai Jalaram Mandir, Sugarland, TX while knowing that each one of us played a role in helping it reach the point it is at today.
We plan to teach younger children about our culture, while learning more about it ourselves and at the same time, making friends and growing closer to our Hindu community!

SENIORS FORUM
The SSJM supports a very successful community outreach program, namely “Seniors Forum” – a free program for Seniors which is sustained by donations.
About 70 to 80 members meet every first and third Wednesday of most months. The engaging agenda includes Laughter Yoga, guest speakers on a variety of topics related to the seniors, potluck lunch, anniversary/birthday celebrations, etc. Occasionally, there are talent shows, outings like picnics, cruices, etc. Additionally, each year the Seniors have successfully raised funds in conjunction with SSJM and some Good Samaritans for The Community Assistance Center of Montgomery County’s Keep Us Fed program. The forum has also collected clothes, household goods etc. for Montgomery County Women’s Center.
Every Monday, the Seniors meet for meditation and yoga at 11 am – 12 pm.
Seniors, who are mobile or who have rides come from near and far to attend the gatherings. There are a number of volunteers, as well, who consistently support the operations and proactively work on and behind the scenes.
Visiting Seniors and resident Seniors who would like to join or would like a ride and others who would like to act as a volunteer, please send an email to manager@babamandir.org with their name, telephone number, and email address. They, or their next of kin, will be contacted with information on the next upcoming meeting dates.
Volunteer for SSJM Seva
We need and welcome Volunteers to take care of many aspects of our temple. You can volunteer according to your interest in any of our religious, educational, cultural, and community activities. Some examples of volunteering include:
- Temple Facility Maintenance: Light cleaning inside and outside the temple complex.
- Kitchen Help for Annadanam
- Education Programs: Teaching or Coordinating our various language programs.
- Cultural Programs: Teaching or Coordinating our various programs in classical singing, classical dance, classical music instrument, and other cultural activities.
- Religious Programs: Help setup for Puja Services routinely and for major festivals & celebrations. Devotional singing, bhajans, decorations, etc
- Community Programs: Participate in various temple sponsored community activities
