Parayan Procedure:

After taking bath, cleaning temple(home temple), lighting lamp, Incense stick, applying Baba’s sacred Udi should start the reading of Sri Sai Sat Charitra with complete devotion and faith in Baba. If one is not keeping good health or for any reason cannot take bath or light lamp, taking Baba’s name they can still read the book. After the completion of Sai Sat Charitra, Prasad should be offered to Baba either in home temple or in Baba temple near to their home where they can go . If they cannot go or are unable to prepare Prasad, simple Pranam at the Lotus feet of Baba shall also do. When the Parayan is complete family members can join together and do Baba’s Aarti and the Prasad offered to Baba can be distributed to the family members.

SSJM Youth Council is an ongoing community service group for Middle school and High School students. Students meet monthly to plan service projects outside the temple such as feeding the homeless, collecting toys for kids, etc. Also, students regularly participate in service within the temple such as serving food in the kitchen, cleaning up in the temple, etc. Foremost in all of these activities is that the youth are primarily responsible for initiating, planning, and following through on projects. Two adult sponsors also attend meetings to provide support and adult guidance. The Youth Council requires a commitment from the youth to be able to attend meetings and participate in the activities. Also, a goal is that the members will also have opportunities for leadership by leading service projects.
